…and distributing that food through our Community Partners

Mission One:
Growing food for others…

From the very beginning of Jacob’s Reward Farm, the mission has been to share its beauty and productivity with our friends and neighbors. We’ve grown and developed into a community that works to use our acreage to combat hunger in all its forms: hunger for food, hunger for relationships, and hunger for a connection to the transcendent.

As a non-profit organization, The Giving Garden is well positioned to reach into our community and provide healthy food and food education to those who need them. We’d love to have you along with us. We invite you to become a member of the Garden and make a real difference to real people in our area, and perhaps grapple with some of the big questions of life.

"He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God." ~2 Corinthians 9:10-11

Mission Two:
Teach others to do the same.

Through our work days and workshops, we share skills needed to grow food plants and animals that people can use in their own contexts to provide affordable, humane, and healthy food for themselves and their families.

It’s our aim to partner with area food banks and community resources to share what we produce for the benefit of the food-insecure people around us.

For instance, Allen Food Pantry volunteers receive eggs, meat and produce from the Garden as we harvest it. In this way, we get food straight into the hands of those who need it.
